ATHLETICS: RIGAUDO WINS THE GOLD, WEISSTEINER THE BRONZE
 

Elisa Rigaudo won the gold medal in the 20km walk. The Azzurra with 1:32:44 left behind the two Spaniards Maria Del Monte Vasco (1:34:28) and Beatriz Pascual (1:36:27). In the 5000 m. Silvia Weissteiner won the bronze (15:28.55) finishing behind the French Magaret Maury- Kerubo (15:22.59) and Asmae Leghzaoui from Marocco. (15:23.30)
