FENCING:THREE BRONZE MEDALS IN THE SWARD
 

Three azzurri managed to reach the sward semi finals and all three came third. In the men's division, Luigi Mazzone finished in 5^ position but Federico Bollati was still in the match. Beaten in the last lap by the French Lucenay by 15-14, anyway he won the bronze medal. In the semi finals Sara Cometti and Veronica Rossi had to beat the very strong French Hajinalka Picot Kiraly and Laura Flessel Colovic. Sara suffered from the beginning the opponent actions finishing the match on 15 - 2. Laura Flessel, who leads the world cup, had some difficulties with Veronica that maneged to fight till 13 - 11 losing it at the very end.
