ATHLETICS: GIACONI AND PIGNATA TWO SILVERS
 

The first day of athletics ends with another two silver medals. Andrea Giaconi arrived second in the 110 final and Francesco Pignata arrived second in the javelin. Giaconi qualifying 13.60 ran the final in 13.69 arriving behind the Spanish Vivancos (13.53), third place the Croatian(13.73). Pignata throwed his javelin at m. 74,51 in his third chance but in the last chance he past the French Tipotio (75,20).
