MEDAL SHOWCASE AFTER 4^ DAY - ITALY SECOND
New change of the Mediterranean Games medal colection lead after the 4^ day of competitions. Italy kept the lead on saturday and sunday but today France is first, winning 5 gold medals in the swimming, but only with the amount o medals won today.
Infact, is the first time since the XV Meditteranean Games of Almeria started that Italy results at the lead of the total amount of medals won, overtaking even the home athletes from Spain (66-65), who where first untill now.
Today Italy won her medals in six sports: Fencing (three bronze by Bollati, Rossi and Cometti), Swimming (two golds by Gemo and Berbotto, a silver by Nalesso, and three bronze by Segat, Pizzetti and relay race 4x200 fs, by Ricciardi, Carpanese, Cuppone and Filippi), target shooting (a gold by Innocenti and a silver by Di Spigno), target shooting (a silver by Facheris and two bronze by De Nicolo anf Franzoni), gymnastics (two gold by Ferrari and Morandi, two silvers by Ferrari and Coppolino,and two bronze by Pozzo and Busnari) and weightlifting (a bronze by De Luca).
Complessivamente oggi l'Italia ha vinto 5 medaglie d'oro, 5 d'argento e 11 di bronzo che portano il totale a 66 medaglie di cui 25 ori, 18 argenti e 23 bronzi, mentre la Francia ha 61 medaglie di cui 26 ori, 16 argenti e 19 bronzi.
