MEDAL SHOWCASE AFTER THE 5^ DAY – ONCE AGAIN ITALY IS FIRST
The lead changes again after the fifth day of competition. After loosing the leadership on Monday, Italy got it back becoming the first nation both in numbers of gold medals and with the total amount of medals (85).
Today Italy won the medals in seven sports: Target shooting (a gold by Bruno), Swimming (3 gold with Fabbri, Terrin and Giacchetti, a silver with Pasini and 4 bronze with Segat. Vespe., the woman’s relay race team with Filippi, Demozzi, Migliori, Carpanese, and the men’s relay race team with Catalano, Terrin, Nalesso and Berbotto), Target Shooting ( a gold by Falco and a silver by Benelli), Gymnastics (two gold by Ferrari and a silver with Angioletti and a silver By Busnari) Judo (a silver by Congia and a Bronze by Caudana), Wrestling (two bronze by Fasugba an Miano Petta) (…) (a silver in the men’s petanque).
In total today Italy wins 7 gold medals, 5 silver ones and 8 bronze ones with the total amount of 85 medals divided in 32 gold ones, 23 silver ones and 30 bronze ones. France is second with 75 medals: 31 gold ones, 20 silver ones and 24 bronze ones.
